« THOMAS DOBLER'S NEW BAROQUE » is an international chamber music ensemble, performing baroque music in an original and unique way, including a large part of improvisation, jazz and world music.

Thomas Dobler and his partners invite their audience on a imaginary trip through baroque Europe. Major works by JS Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, Henry Purcell, Jean-Philippe Rameau and Georg Friedrich Handel have been revisited. The musical concept combines composition, arrangement and improvisation.

The hybrid ensemble expands regularly with other eminent classical and jazz musicians.

The program “Handel Reloaded” has been composed as a suite, including excepts of the “Messiah”, “Dixit Dominus”, as well as the operas “Rinaldo”, “Partenope” and “Julius Caesar” by Georg Friedrich Haendel.

An arrangement for symphony chamber orchestra had its first performance in december 2021 at the Tonhalle St. Gallen (Sinfonieorchester St. Gallen, conducted by Joseph Bastian).
